A downloadable game/metaphor
Somasynthesis is a short solo journaling rpg which is absolutely free of any metaphors and is exactly what my life was like growing up while trans. It draws heavily on notions of body horror and monstrousness to parallel my own experience with my gender and body. It is also metal as fuck, in my completely unbiased opinion.
(This is a game that deals with explicit body horror and monstrousness, and themes that may be upsetting, uncomfortable, or deeply personal. It also deals with transness and existence in a way I find personally empowering by centering and embracing monstrosity. You may not agree, and that's ok! You're not wrong for not sharing my experiences or views! There are as many ways to be trans and to understand transness as there are cells in our bodies, as stars beyond sight, as futures we could build. If at any time you feel as though you cannot, or do not wish to, continue, you are always free to walk away. The game will still be here if you want to return.)
(The art for the current version isn't quite final but I agreed with my friend who I've comissioned it from to use this mostly finished WIP so I could have something out for the trans rights in Florida bundle - the finalised art should be up soonish. You can find more of their stuff @0kaybutwhy on tumblr)
